Russel Wright pitcher, original drawing and silkscreen © Liza Cowan 2017, now available as a framed digital print.
I made this first as a two color silkscreen print of a drawing I made of one of my favorite of his pieces, the American Modern Water Pitcher. The blue motif was made by using a repeat pattern of a rubber stamp.
Two wooden frame options, black and white.
Russel Wright was an iconic, mid century artist, industrial designer, craftsman, visionary.
His lines of ceramics and tableware revolutionized the way Americans sat down to dinner.
I've been obsessed with his shapes for decades, and have used them in my art over the years.
